- Passenger vehicle sales stood at 19,781 units in July 2018 as against 21,034 units sold in same period last year
- Reports 13 per cent cumulative growth in July 2018 with 47,199 units sold as against 41,819 vehicles sold in same period last year
Mahindra’s passenger vehicle segment (including UVs, cars and vans) has witnessed a six per cent drop in sales with 19,781 units sold in July as against 21,034 vehicles sold in July 2017. However, the passenger vehicle division has witnessed a 19 per cent month-on-month growth in July with 19,781 units as against 15,942 units sold in June 2018.
Overall the company has witnessed 13 per cent growth in sales with 47,199 units in July 2018, as against 41,819 units in the same period last year. From the total number, the company has sold 44,605 units sold in India, thereby witnessing a growth of 12 per cent. Exports for July this year has witnessed a 31 per cent growth.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajan Wadhera, President, Automotive Sector, Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. said, "The auto industry has been subject to certain uncertainties with the truckers strike and sluggishness on the retail front which has impacted the passenger vehicle segment. Demand for our commercial vehicles continues to be strong and the newly launched Furio range of ICVs augurs well for our M&HCV business. As we move into the festive season, we are confident of seeing a turnaround in the overall buying sentiment, coupled with the just announced Mahindra Marazzo, which is scheduled for launch next month”.
