Mahindra has released an official sketch for the XUV Aero concept car. Based on the standard XUV500, this vehicle is a coupe-SUV design and will debut at the 2016 Auto Expo. It, in essence, previews the direction that Mahindra will take with its current flagship model.
The sketch reveals a hunkered down version of the SUV with massively flared wheel arches, rear sloping roofline and a completely new tail lamp setup as well as boot design. From the design, we can also discern that the rear door will cut into the rear wheel arches.
From the existing car, it seems that headlamps, bonnet and diffuser assembly will be carried over from the current car. It seems possible that the interior too will be carried over from the current car but with a few additions.
Given that the current crops of vehicles of such kind are usually high-end luxury models, this is a major step by Mahindra to introduce such a body style in the Indian market.
