Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. (M&M Ltd.) received the National Energy Conservation Award 2013. The company’s manufacturing facility in Zaheerabad, Andhra Pradesh was rewarded for the efficient steps taken for energy conservation. This is the eighth time the Plant has received this award since the panel was formed in 1991.
This fiscal year, saw the company’s production facility drop the specific consumption of Electricity and Thermal Energy by 18 and 29.96 per cent respectively. By winning the first prize for three consecutive years, the plant also got the Top Rank Prize in the Indian automobile manufacturing sector.
National Energy Conservation Day was celebrated on December 16, 2013. On this occasion the President, Pranab Mukherjee bestowed the award to Mahindra in the presence of 53 other sectors of industry and other establishments at an event in New Delhi.
