Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M) announced that it has received 5000+ bookings from customers for its newly launched SUV – the XUV500 in a mere 6 days. Bookings for the XUV500 had opened across five cities - Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Bengaluru and Chennai - from October 1st, 2011.
The ‘Guess the Price’ contest, initiated just 10 days prior to launch, received a whopping 1.15 lac entries, making the contest a huge success. This has led to a virtual stampede of consumers at Mahindra dealerships to get their first look of the XUV500 and to test drive it. M&M has also received a whopping 35,000+ test drive requests! As a part of the launch marketing campaign, the XUV500 cheetah announcer TV ad went on air on 5th October which is a continuation of the teaser ad. However, M&M has decided to defer the launch press ad campaign in view of the euphoric consumer reaction.
