Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. has announced that they have achieved the milestone of producing 50 lakh units of Mahindra vehicles. The Mahindra Thar was rolled out of the company's production facility in Kandivli as the five millionth vehicle.
The company's achievement is the result of a combined effort from the manufacturer's six plants in Chakan, Haridwar, Zaheerabad, Nasik, Kandivali and an engine plant in Igatpuri. The company had achieved the four millionth vehicle production landmark in 2012 and surpassed the 50 lakh units milestone in just two years.
Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group, said, “This rollout of our five millionth vehicle marks an important milestone in our automotive journey over the past seven decades. It is also a reflection of the commitment and can-do spirit of our people who continually strive to raise their game while producing world class vehicles.”
The company celebrated this success by dedicating the achievement to each and every member of the Mahindra family. Mahindra and Mahindra has been manufacturing three-wheelers, light commercial vehicles, heavy commercial vehicles, utility vehicles, sports utility vehicles, sedans, hatchbacks and electric vehicles. The company has maintained sustained growth with constantly developing manufacturing excellence. Testimony to the fact is the new plant at Chakan spread across 700acres, which has helped them increased the production capacity.
