Mahindra Racing has clinched its first podium in the Formula E series. While Felix Rosenqvist crossed the chequered flag at the Berlin ePrix in the first position, a ten second penalty saw him drop to the second spot.Â
Having qualified in the pole position, Rosenqvist led the race from start to finish. However, he was penalised for an unsafe release into the pit lane, which cost him the top spot. Nevertheless, this has so far been the best result for Mahindra Racing, since it first started competing in the Formula E championship back in 2015. Rosenqvist’s team mate Nick Heidfeld also had an unfortunate incident, wherein a sensor malfunction during qualifiers forced him to the back of the grid. Despite the setback, Heidfield put up a stellar performance, finishing in the 10th spot and scoring a point for his team.Â
Rosenqvist is currently in the third spot in the championship standings, while Heidfield currently holds the fifth position. As for team standings, Mahindra Racing has narrowed down the gap between itself and the second-placed team to 22 points. The final four races of this season will take place in North America, next month.
