Mahindra will launch its compact MUV, the Quanto in Nepal in July. The vehicle will be imported via the CBU route by Agni Incorporated, official distributors of Mahindra vehicles in Nepal. The company aims to target buyers looking to upgrade from hatchbacks and is expected to be popular due to its high ground clearance and feature list.
The Mahindra Quanto was launched in October last year and is powered by a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel mill that produces 100PS and 240Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox. From the features described in the reports it is likely that Nepal will only get the C6 and the top of the line C8 variants of the Quanto.
However, Agni has not announced a price for the Quanto. We believe that it will cost twice as much as it does in India due to Nepal’s high tax rates and the fact that the vehicle is a CBU.
