The Mahindra Quanto will be launched in four days and the demo and test drive cars have now started reaching the company’s dealers. Of course, the cars are supposed to be under wraps till the launch, but ‘Torque-ative’ from Team-bhp has managed to snap one of the demo cars from almost all angles.
The Quanto has been caught testing many times and pics from almost all angles are already available on the webosphere. These fresh images only confirm the earlier findings and we now await for the details of prices, features and variants.
The Mahindra Quanto is a sub-four meter MUV based on the Xylo platform; with 1.5-litre diesel engine to get tax subsidies availed by the small cars. The Mini Xylo is actually a five-seater vehicle, but will get optional two butterfly-seats in the boot making it seven-seater if required. From the front, the Quanto looks exactly like the Xylo, but is lot smaller. The spare-tyre is mounted on the rear door to add some bulk to the vehicle. The details of the engine are not available as yet; but it is expected to be three-cylinder 1.5-litre diesel based on the mHawk, producing around 100bhp and 240Nm of torque. The interior design will also be very similar to its elder sibling the Xylo.
The pricing of the new Quanto is expected to be super competitive starting somewhere between Rs 5.5 lakh and Rs 6 lakh. It will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the Renault Duster in the Indian market.
