A heavily disguised test mule of the Mahindra Quanto facelift has been spotted undergoing trials on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway.
While the overall design of new Quanto will be similar to the current car, the spy shots show that the facelift will get some major cosmetic upgrades to give the car a fresh look. The new Quanto will get revised headlamps with DRLs, a new front grille and bumpers as well as new alloy wheels for the top-end models. The interior will feature a revamped beige theme to give the car a premium feel, and a new audio system with Bluetooth and voice recognition system.
Mechanically, the new Quanto will continue to use the 1.5-litre three-cylinder diesel engine, which produces 100bhp and 240Nm of torque. We can expect Mahindra to tweak the suspension setup of the new Quanto, to improve the car’s diving dynamics.
We can expect Mahindra to continue with the 5+2 seating arrangement in the Quanto facelift. Though the company hasn’t confirmed this yet, reports suggest that Mahindra might launch the AMT gearbox equipped variant of the Quanto, along with this facelift. The Quanto competes with the only other MUV in this price range - the Chevrolet Enjoy.
