While the upcoming Mahindra Quanto facelift has been caught on camera several times in the last few months, this is our first brief look at the model’s AMT version. Spotted undergoing testing in Nashik, the AMT version is bound to widen the new Quanto’s appeal among compact utility vehicle buyers.
Mahindra will launch the Quanto facelift early next year with a revised exterior design, upgraded drivetrain and improved build quality. While the basic silhouette will be similar to that of the old car, the heavy camouflage suggests that the Quanto facelift will get some major cosmetic upgrades for 2016. The MPV will come with revised headlamps with DRLs, KUV100-like front grille as well as new alloy wheels for the top-end trim.
Inside, the cabin will get revamped beige upholstery, new steering wheel design and a touchscreen infotainment system.
Powering the Quanto facelift will be a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder mHAWK 80 turbocharged diesel engine. Developing around 85bhp and 230Nm, the engine currently powers the TUV300. As for gearbox options, a 5-speed manual will be offered as standard while the added convenience of an AMT gearbox will be available as option.
Mahindra currently is on a roll as far as product expansion is considered. Having launched the TUV 300 and more recently, the XUV500 automatic, the brand is now set to launch the KUV100 compact vehicle on January 15, 2016.
