Mahindra has been actively testing the Quanto facelift for quite some time now. Expected to launch sometime next year, this new version of the compact MPV has been caught on camera yet again, this time in Nashik. When launched, the Quanto facelift will be seen with refreshed styling as well as some mechanical upgrades.
While the overall design will be similar to that of the current car, the heavy camouflage suggests that the Quanto facelift will get some major cosmetic upgrades for 2016. The MPV will come with revised headlamps with DRLs, a new front grille and bumpers as well as new alloy wheels for the top-end trim. Inside, Mahindra is expected to include a revamped beige theme to give the interiors a premium feel, and a new audio system with Bluetooth and voice recognition system.
Mechanically, the Quanto facelift is likely to borrow the TUV 300’s drivetrain. This means one can expect this model with the same 1.5-litre 3-cylinder mHAWK 80 turbocharged diesel engine. Developing around 85bhp and 230Nm, this unit will be paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Mahindra will launch the Quanto facelift next year; however, what may be big news is that the Quanto could be renamed as the Canto for 2016.
