The stylish compact SUV, Mahindra NuvoSport is all set to be launched in the Indian market on April 4. The sub-four metre vehicle with a modern design is targeted at urban buyers and is expected to be priced between Rs 7.0 lakh – 7.5 lakh.
The upcoming Mahindra NuvoSport is basically a facelift for the Quanto which failed to generate impressive sales numbers for the Indian automaker. The new vehicle is expected to reclaim the company’s lost share by offering a vehicle with more features and style. Official details on the technical aspect is not known for now, however, it is likely that the company might offer the NuvoSport with a 1.5-litre engine that will generate a power output of about 90bhp.
As part of fresh upgrades, the Mahindra NuvoSport will feature a faux hood scoop, rugged black bumper, LED DRLs and a faux skid plate. To increase its style quotient, the vehicle will feature five-spoke alloy wheels. The rear section gets vertically stacked tail lamps and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel. As for safety, the vehicle will get dual airbags as standard right from the base model.
The research and development activity for the NuvoSport is conducted by Mahindra’s Research Valley (MRV) in Chennai while the design element is worked upon by Mahindra’s in-house design team. The recently launched TUV300 with basic styling and rugged built appeals more to the rural market, while the NuvoSport with modern style upgrades will appeal to potential urban customers.
