Our friends at Team-Bhp have possibly revealed the official name of the much awaited Mahindra Mini Xylo. The new compact MUV based on the Xylo is expected to be called the Quanto, continuing the Mahindra tradition of model names ending with ‘O’. The forum has posted a few pictures of the Xylo without cladding, disclosing further details.
It seems that the new Mahindra Quanto is a sub-four meter vehicle (without the spare wheel mounted outside), making it eligible for tax subsidies of the small cars. The car might also get a foldable third-row, butterfly windows and super competitive pricing starting at around Rs 5.5 lakh.
The Mini Xylo will be powered by 1.5-litre diesel engine – either the 1.5-litre four-cylinder from the Verito or the new 3-cylinder 100bhp engine based on the mEagle, scooped by the same blokes. As confirmed before, we expect Mahindra to launch the new Quanto by end of September.
