Mahindra is working on developing new products and eventually expanding their product portfolio. On that front, we have the ageing Xylo also in the line-up and now the company might develop a bigger TUV with front-facing third row seats to replace it.
Since Mahindra has applied for new trademarks including TUV500, we can expect this new vehicle to be named as the Mahindra TUV500. Details on the same are, however, bleak now. Here’s what we think the company is up to. The existing TUV300 is based on the shortened platform of the Scorpio and gets small jump seats. The company might extend this platform making more space in the cabin to accommodate a third row of front facing seats, making it a proper seven-seater.
The Mahindra Xylo is a seven-seater MUV that could not replicate the success of what the Scorpio and Bolero did for the brand. So it won't come as a surprise if the manufacturer might eventually take the Xylo out making way for the extended TUV500. Moreover, even if the design cues of the TUV500 are taken from the TUV300, the new vehicle will look better than the Xylo with its SUV-like appearance. It is expected to have a flatter ride than the Xylo and in terms of equipment, it should be feature packed knowing the taste of the Indian buyers.
