Reports suggest that Mahindra is going to issue a recall of the Scorpio EX variant to fix potential issues with its pressure regulating valves. A total of 23,519 vehicles manufactured between May 2012 and November 2013 might be affected by this recall.
"This recall is limited only to the Scorpio EX variant manufactured during the said period and does not affect any other Scorpio variants," Mahindra said in a statement. The affected vehicles will be scrutinised by Mahindra and the defective part will be replaced, free of cost.
This is the second recall issued by Mahindra for the Scorpio, this year. In the previous instance, 985 units of the same variant manufactured between October and November 2013 were recalled by the Mumbai-based manufacturer to fix the issue of faulty pressure regulating valves. Now, the issue seems to have affected a wider range of vehicles as the recall has been extended to vehicles manufactured since May 2012.
Last year, in March, Mahindra had issued a similar recall for 24,695 units of the XUV500 manufactured between 2011 and 2012 to replace the fluid hose and front power window units.
