- To be launched on 3 September
- Based on an all-new monocoque platform
- Distinctive shark-inspired design philosophy
Mahindra’s much-awaited MPV, the Marazzo is due for launch in India on 3 September. The Mahindra Marazzo is based on an all-new monocoque platform with the largest footprint for a Mahindra till date. Moreover, the company claims that the MPV comes with a patented architecture to offer a unique balance of smooth ride, agile handling, space and a quiet cabin.
Although Mahindra has revealed that the Marazzo will be offered with a new engine option, the company has not spoken in detail about it yet. We believe that it might be a 1.6-litre diesel engine from the Falcon series that the company has been working on for quite some time now. The engine is expected to come mated to a six-speed manual and an optional six-speed automatic transmission. A petrol engine option is expected to be introduced in due course of time.
The Marazzo has a distinctive shark-inspired design philosophy that is evident from its aerodynamic and streamlined design. The MPV gets an intimidating front look with shark-teeth like chrome grille inserts. The rear section, on the other hand, is highlighted by the shark-tail like tail lamps. The vehicle also features a shark-fin antenna to complete its overall aesthetics. The instrument cluster is all new and will get purple illumination. The upholstery will be offered in perforated leatherette and will get automatic climate control with rear AC. The rear AC system is unique with its longitudinal layout and is called the ‘surround cool’ air conditioning system.
In terms of pricing, we expect the Marazzo to be priced between Rs 10-15 lakhs and compete against the likes of the Tata Hexa, Toyota Innova Crysta, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the Honda BR-V.
