Mahindra Marazzo automatic and petrol variants to be launched by 2020

The much awaited Mahindra Marazzo has been finally launched with a starting price of Rs. 9.99 lakhs ex-showroom pan-India. The MPV comes in four variants, however gets only the single 1.5-litre diesel engine option to choose from. 

If you were waiting for an automatic option, you will be disappointed. With BS 6 norms looming just around the corner it would have been an expensive affair for Mahindra to recalibrate the engine to meet BS 6 emission norms which will kick in by 2020. As a result, Mahindra has decided that it will roll out the automatic diesel variant of the Marazzo only once BS 6 regulations fall into place by 2020.

The Marazzo is also slated to get a petrol engine, however that too shall be introduced in a BS 6 avatar. The petrol engine is expected to be indigenously built and is currently under development. Once launched the petrol engine is expected to get an automatic option as well.
