Mahindra & Mahindra have announced that they will soon hike the price of their vehicles by one to two per cent to combat the effects of inflation and increasing input costs. This was confirmed by Pawan Goenka, president -automotive and farm equipment sectors in Delhi during the annual CII meet. He has, however, not specified when the hike will come into effect or which models will be affected by the hike.
Goenka also said that they had been affected by the hike in excise duty for SUVs that had been announced during the 2013 Union Budget and were waiting for some clarity from various quarters in this regard. He also said that orders for their newly launched e2o EV were slightly disappointing despite many showing interest in the vehicle.
