Mahindra has launched the XUV500 with the prices starting at Rs 10.8lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The car comes in three variants, the W6 and the W8. The W8 is the top-of-the-line costs Rs 11.95lakh and the all wheel drive version costs Rs 12.88lakh. bookings commence on the 1st of October in Phase I cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore and Pune.
The XUV500 gets the mHawk140 engine that boasts 140bhp and 330Nm of torque that transfers power to all the wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. This engine gets the microHybrid technology and even gets twin exhaust pipes. The XUV5OO’s has a fuel efficiency of 15.1kmpl under the ARAI test cycle. The top-of-the-line variant gets the 17-inch alloy wheels. The XUV500 comes loaded with various safety features that include ABS, 6-airbags and the ESP.
