Mahindra has launched the Ssangyong Rexton RX6 model at Rs 19.96 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the Indian market. The company claims that this particular model has been launched to bridge the gap between the Rexton RX5 and the RX7.
Mahindra says that the introduction of the Rexton RX6 was due to various consumer feedbacks on the need of high-end, luxurious features but with a manual transmission. This variant doesn’t get the four-wheeled drive option but features torque on demand. The company was able to save little more than Rs 1 lakh by excluding the automatic gearbox and four-wheeled drive option. It also borrowed few features from both the variants- RX5 and RX7, giving a prospective customer more than a decent package. It also gets the electrical sunroof, eight-way electrically-adjustable driver’s seat with memory function, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers. The RX6 is available in four colours – satin white, volcano black, moondust silver and opulent purple.
“We see Rexton RX6 as a product that is at the top of our utility vehicle (UV) portfolio. More than volumes, it reinforces our effort of launching UVs at every point – right from the entry- level to the premium luxury level," said Arun Malhotra, chief, sales and customer care officer, automotive division, Mahindra.
