Mahindra’s KUV100 was quite popular for its six-seat layout option when it was first introduced in India. This time around, the popular Indian utility vehicle manufacturer Mahindra has launched the new KUV100 NXT in five variants – K2, K2+, K4+, K6+ and the K8. The new model is available in six colour options – pearl white, dazzling silver, flamboyant red, fiery orange, designer grey and midnight black. The top-spec version is available in dual tone colour options like – silver/black and red/black. All variants get six-seat configuration as standard, while the five-seat arrangement is offered as an optional.
Changes are limited to cosmetic upgrades, while mechanically it continues to be offered in existing diesel and petrol engine options. Under the hood, the newly launched KUV100 NXT gets a 1.2-litre all-aluminium mFALCON G80 3-cylinder petrol motor that generates 82bhp of power at 5500rpm and 114Nm of torque between 3500-3600rpm. The diesel version on the other hand gets a 1.2-litre mFALCON D75 engine that generates 77bhp of power at 3750rpm and 190Nm of torque between 1750-2250rpm. Both the engines come mated to a five-speed manual transmission.

KUV100 NXT K2 and K2+
The K2 is the base variant for the newly launched KUV100 NXT. It gets grey coloured interior theme, tilt electric power steering, storage space under co-driver seat, flat floor storage and gear shift alert. As part of the standard equipment in the new KUV100 NXT, the base variant also gets the new grille with black inserts, two tone bumpers, tweaked rear door design, new wheel arch claddings, front and rear skid plates and new clear lens tail lamps. The vehicle also gets 14-inch steel wheels with caps, while ABS with EBD and engine immobilizer is offered as standard. The petrol variant is priced at Rs 4,39,000 while the diesel variant is priced at Rs 5,39,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The KUV100 K2+ variant only gets dual airbags in addition to all the features from the base K2 variant. The petrol variant is priced at Rs 4,81,885 while the diesel variant is priced at Rs 5,66,794 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
KUV100 NXT K4+
Moving one level higher, in addition to all the features from the K2+, the K4+ gets sill cladding, manual central locking, front and rear power windows, driver seat height adjust, body coloured door handles and ORVMs, full wheel covers and foldable rear seat. The petrol variant is priced at Rs 5,21,931 (five-seater) and Rs 5,28,328 (six-seater) while the diesel variant is priced at Rs 6,07,259 (five-seater) and Rs 6,13,701 (six-seater) (ex-showroom, Delhi).
KUV100 NXT K6+
The K6+ which is second to top variant, further enhances the feature list as it gets grille with chrome inserts, 15-inch steel wheel with cover, dual chamber head lamps, ORVM turn indicators, door side cladding, electronic AC control, seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, AFE display, engine start/stop, remote central locking, and rear wiper and defogger. Additionally, it also gets electrically adjustable ORVMs, removable storage bin under the co-driver seat, rear parcel tray, steering mounted controls, sunglass holder and follow-me home headlamps. As for safety, it additionally gets speed sensing door locks, anti-theft security alarm, automatic hazard warning lamps, one remote key and sun-visor with mirror. The petrol variant is priced at Rs 5,99,995 for the five and six-seater options while the diesel variant is priced at Rs 6,92,370 (five-seater) and Rs 6,98,791 (six-seater) (ex-showroom, Delhi).
KUV100 NXT K8
The top of the line KUV100 NXT K8 variant is for those who look forward to a fully loaded variant. In addition to all the features from the lower variants, the K8 variant additionally offers sporty black interiors, 15-inch two-tone diamond cut alloy wheels, on-board navigation, electrically folding ORVMs, IntelliPark, remote opening tailgate and LED DRLs. The top-spec variant also gets fog lamp bezel with chrome, piano black rear door handle, adjustable rear headrest, rear arm rest, puddle lamps, mood lighting, boot lamp and cooled glove box. Mahindra also offers a 12V power outlet in the second row for convenience. Interestingly, the top-spec version is also available in dual tone body colour options. The petrol variant is priced at Rs 6,37,286 (five-seater) and Rs 6,43,663 (six-seater) while the diesel variant is priced at Rs 7,28,728 (five-seater) and Rs 7,35,148 (six-seater) (ex-showroom, Delhi). The dual tone colour option is limited to the six-seat variant where the petrol version is priced at Rs 6,51,163 and the diesel version is priced at Rs 7,42,648 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
For customers running on a tight budget, the K4+ variant gives modest features, while the K6+ variant can be the ideal choice for customers looking for a decent amount of features. Interestingly, Mahindra has priced the top spec K8 closer to the K6+ variant with a difference of about Rs 40,000 – Rs 55,000 thereby making it easier for customers who are eager to buy the top-spec version.
