Mahindra has announced that the recently launched KUV100 NXT will get an AMT option in early 2018. This two-pedal setup was already in the pipeline and will be an important addition to the offerings in the KUV NXT package.
This AMT is expected to be similar to what is found on the TUV300 compact SUV and will be offered with both petrol and diesel engine options. While the former is standard in the segment, the addition of a diesel AMT will make Mahindra the third manufacturer to have this setup. Currently Maruti Suzuki offers a diesel AMT with the Dzire and Ignis, while Tata offers the same with its Zest compact sedan.
It is too early to speculate about pricing or variants. But we can tell you this much – if one were to look at the current AMT offerings from Mahindra, we can be sure that this two-pedal option will be offered from a mid-level variant onwards.
