-Â Â Â Â Mahindra had hinted at AMT for KUV NXT during launch
AN AMT (automated manual transmission) powered KUV100 NXT has been spotted doing the rounds in Mumbai. This version of the KUV100 NXT is a planned update that the Indian automaker had hinted at during the launch of the vehicle last year.
This AMT is expected to be offered with both petrol and diesel engines, thus making Mahindra the third manufacturer to offer a diesel automatic option in this part of the market. The spy shots indicate that this will be a variant for the KUV100 NXT rather than a whole new model by itself.
Judging by how Mahindra offers AMT among its other models, we believe that this AMT spec KUV100 will be offered in mid-level as well as top-of-the-line variants. Essentially, this is a strategy very similar to the one used by Maruti Suzuki with regard to its AMT models. We expect that Mahindra will add around Rs 50,000 to Rs 60,000 to price of the car in terms of AMT vs manual.
