Mahindra’s ‘Young SUV’, the KUV100 has been launched at the Mahindra plant in Pune and prices will start at Rs 4.42 lakh (ex-showroom Pune). This vehicle is targeted at the youth and will be positioned below the TUV300. The KUV100 is the second offering from Mahindra that uses a monocoque construction and will compete with the likes of mid-size hatchbacks like the Ford Figo, Hyundai Grand i10, Maruti Swift, Nissan Micra and the Renault Pulse.
The highlight of the interiors is the light coloured dashboard with a unique floating design, a dash mounted gear lever and pull type hand brake.
The air-con knobs on the centre console are positioned vertically and farther from the driver. The music system sits higher and is flanked by snazzy chrome inserts.
The steering wheel looks trendy and comes with control functions for the music system. Power mirror switches can be seen to the right of the dash and the power window switches are on the door pad.
The instrument cluster looks fresh and houses two simplistic dials for the speedometer and the tachometer.
Centre storage carries a lot of space for all your knick-knacks, cups and all the extras you could think of stashing in this storage space.
Mahindra has added that the six-seater has the option of folding the centre seat in the front and it doubles up as a neat armrest for the front occupants.
