A test mule for a facelifted version of Mahindra’s entry level hatch back, the KUV100 has been spotted doing the rounds. Marketed as the ‘Young SUV’, Mahindra launched the KUV100 in early 2016 and the hatch back is now speculated to receive a midlife update.
The spotted vehicle carries a heavy camouflage, however, the cosmetics of the Mahindra KUV100 are expected to be reworked. Upfront the hatchback is expected to carry a vertically slatted grille, styled to follow the Mahindra’s family design. The side profile is expected to carry a similar silhouette. However, we can expect new styling lines as a part of the midlife update.
The interior is expected to receive a certain lift with tweaks in the design. However, the power source won’t be seeing any changes. The new car will be powered by the same 1.2-litre mFalcon petrol and diesel engines. The former produces 82bhp and the latter produces 77bhp. Both the engines will be mated to a five speed gearbox.
The new hatchback is expected to unveil itself in the festive season and could go on sale soon after it’s unveiling. When launched, the new car will continue to rival with Tata Tiago, Maruti Suzuki Celerio and the Datsun Go.
