Mahindra has revealed that its new compact SUV, codenamed S101, will officially be called the KUV100. It will be offered in seven variants with new petrol and diesel engine options under a new family of mills called mFALCON. This is the Mumbai-based automaker’s first petrol engine and is likely to power a range of cars in the future. The KUV100 will be launched on January 15 in seven variants with bookings opening from December 19.
The variants are K2, K2+, K4, K4+, K6, K6+ and K8 where all the plus variants will have airbags and ABS as standard. There will be seven colours options-orange, red, silver, aquamarine, white, grey and black.
The mFALCON G80 1.2-litre petrol engine will produce 82bhp and 114Nm of torque while the 1.2-litre mFALCON D75 diesel mill will produce 77bhp and 190Nm of torque. There is no word on the gearbox options but it is likely to be a five-speed manual. The mFALCON engine family will spawn a variety of petrol and diesel mills in the range of 1.2-litre, 1.5-litre and 1.6-litres.
