Mahindra's new KUV100 has crossed 21,000 bookings since its launch in January this year. Mahindra says that the car has also received 1.75 lakh enquiries and more than 2.7 million visits on their website since then.
Mahindra has achieved this landmark booking all thanks to the different channels through which the company is trying boost its sales. The company is also offering the car, which is offered in both petrol as well as diesel variants, through e-commerce websites. The top-of-the-line trim is fully equipped with all the premium features and safety offerings in Mahindra's list and it competes with cars in the hatchback and crossover segment.
The Mahindra KUV100 is only the second product from Mahindra's portfolio to have a monocoque chassis and is built with 85 per cent localisation. Only a few components are being imported, which has helped the carmaker to price the car aggressively. It is produced at the company’s manufacturing plant in Chakan, Pune.
Pravin Shah, President and Chief Executive (Automotive), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, “We are delighted with the number of KUV100 bookings received within just a month of its launch and would like to thank our customers. The large number of enquiries and 21,000 bookings, reaffirm the immense popularity KUV100 has garnered in such short time. With the launch of the KUV100 we have pushed the boundaries to create a new segment of SUVs as a superior alternative to compact cars and that has resonated well with our customers. What is also very encouraging is that almost half of our bookings are for the KUV100 petrol variant. Further, we are putting our efforts to serve the customers faster by increasing the capacity, as was shared during the launch.”
