Mahindra and Mahindra has finally entered the Philippines market with a few products including the Xylo and the Enforcer SUV. The company will cater their products and services through their official distributor Asianbrands Motors Corporation in the region.
The manufacturer officially launched the Xylo MPV for P850,000 (Rs 11.92 lakh) in one variant and the Enforcer SUV in four variants starting from P650,000 (Rs 9.11 lakh). All the variants of both the models were on display at the launch event in Metro Manila. The cars are modified to suit the left hand drive country, but still produced in India and exported. The looks, features and engine specifications of the cars are the same as the India-spec models.
The Indian automotive brand was formally introduced to the public in the country and the business plan was announced as well. Mahindra also opened three dealerships in the metro, which are located in Manila, Las Piñas and Pasay. All these outlets are functional and all kinds of services including sales, after-sales needs and spare parts will be taken care of. The company also plans to open three more such facilities, each in Cebu, Cagayan de Oro and Butuan.
Felix Mabilog Jr., president and industry veteran, Asianbrands Motors Corporation, said, "We are looking forward to seeing more and more Mahindra vehicles in the country. With a growing dealership network, our customers can rest assured that their Mahindra vehicles will always be in tip-top condition."
The Filipinos did know about Mahindra planning to enter the Philippines market as the Indian manufacturer was supplying their Philippine National Police with 1,470 units of the Enforcer SUV, but it came as a good surprise for them knowing that Mahindra has launched products for the civilians as well.
