Mahindra has launched the e2o ElectriCity car in the UK market, with deliveries starting in May this year. The car is available in two versions - e2o City priced at £12,995 (Rs 12.26 lakh), and e2o TechX that costs £15,995 (Rs 15.09 lakh).
The TechX model of the e2o gets some additional features over the standard e2o City variant. This includes a Blaupunkt touchscreen infotainment system with reversing camera, telematics, Revive remote emergency recharging, leather seats, alloy wheels and a rapid charging port. In addition, the touchscreen infotainment centre comes with satellite navigation with ‘range remaining’ and maps featuring charge point locations. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi hotspot connection, USB, SD card and DAB radio is also in-built in this system.
With the launch of their fully electric e2o vehicle, Mahindra and Mahindra has re-entered the UK car market. The company earlier sold the Revai, dubbed as the G-Wiz. Now this new two-door, four-seater compact hatchback will be the successor, as it will be seen on UK roads in a couple of months.
The Mahindra e2o ElectriCity can be booked through Mahindra's UK website. Test drives will soon begin in London, Birmingham, Bristol and Milton Keynes. The UK-spec e2o model will be exported from India and is the same fully electric vehicle sold in the Indian market, albeit with some market-specific changes. It will cater to the sub-£16,000 segment of the electric vehicles.
