Mahindra’s e-Verito was last showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo event in Delhi. Post much wait, the vehicle finally launches tomorrow. For now, the e-Verito is one of its kind in the country. The upcoming car will be offered in three variants - D2, D4 and D6.
The new Mahindra e-Verito gets a 29kW electric AC motor that generates 39bhp of power. The one seen at the 2016 Auto Expo featured an automatic transmission which is expected to be offered in the production variant as well. On a full charge, the e-Verito claims to cover a distance of 100kms and attain a top speed of 86kmph. The car’s battery takes about six hours for a full charge, while a quick charge can be availed in only about two hours.
The upcoming vehicle does not get major design upgrades, as its body and the chassis has been carried straight from the regular Verito. Changes in the electric version are restricted to a sticker and badging job. The interiors of the upcoming car is fairly decent and spacious, while the higher variant might get leather upholstery along with more feature upgrades. In order to ensure best efficiency figures, the car will also get low resistance tyres.
The government’s recent incentive scheme on hybrid and electric cars might also benefit Mahindra’s upcoming e-Verito sedan. Moreover, the car has no direct competition for now, which means that the car can indeed boost overall sales figures for Mahindra. The pricing aspect and additional details will be revealed tomorrow. Based on anticipation, the base e-Verito variant might be priced under Rs 8.0 lakh.
