Mahindra Reva has announced that it is working on a four-door version of the e2o for the European markets. This was confirmed by Pawan Goenka, executive director who added that the new model would go into production around June-July 2016.
Mahindra had been producing the e2o at its factory outside Bengaluru in limited numbers due to low demand. However, with the Centre adopting the FAME initiative earlier this year, the price of the vehicle dropped from Rs 6.76 lakh to Rs 4.99 lakh (T2) and from Rs 7 lakh to Rs 5.38 lakh for the T2 Quick2Charge variant.
This is believed to have increased demand significantly and now with the exports, Mahindra Reva should finally see the numbers it expected a while ago. Apart from being sold in the Indian market, it is also being exported to certain RHD markets like Bhutan and Sri Lanka. We believe that the four-door model will also be offered in India once it is launched for the European market.
