- Mahindra Dealers have opened separate Ford sales and service outlets for Ford cars
- Will help Ford to sell cars where its dealerships do not exist
Expanding the Mahindra-Ford alliance, Mahindra dealers have now started selling Ford vehicles. However the dealers have to set-up separate Ford sales and service outlets. It’s pretty apparent that Ford does not have enough presence in tier 3 and tier 4 cities and that’s where Mahindra is pretty strong.
The two companies have initiated a pilot program where Mahindra dealers in tier 4 towns have been given an opportunity to sell and service Ford cars. Not only does this give the dealer an opportunity to make more profit but also enable Ford to sell more cars.
According to the alliance, Mahindra dealers will be selling some of Ford’s future products that will be jointly developed by the two companies and sold from the new Ford showrooms. This will be a pivotal step for both the companies as it would provide more reach and help share better technology thereby challenging the bigger players like Hyundai and Maruti Suzuki.
