After making dozens of appearances on the internet with heavy camouflage, Mahindra has finally lifted the wraps off its most awaited SUV yet. What you see above is an official rendering of the Mahindra KUV100 that has been revealed today.
The S101 has been christened the KUV100 and will be positioned below the TUV300. This mini SUV will be powered by a new series of engines from Mahindra’s mFalcon family. The petrol version will be called mFalcon G80 and the diesel will sport the mFalcon D75 badge. Both engines are 1.2-litre units and while the petrol G80 makes 82bhp at 5500rpm (114Nm of torque), the diesel D75 produces 77bhp at 3,725rpm (190Nm of torque). Mahindra claims these engines are currently BS-4 and are capable of BS-5 and BS-6 norms in the future.
The KUV100 will be available in seven colours -fiery orange, flamboyant red, dazzling silver, aquamarine, pearl white, designer grey and midnight black. Bookings open tomorrow, December 19, 2015 for the KUV100. The company has also paid attention to safety features and ABS is standard on all versions. KUV100 variants include K2, K2+, K4, K4+, K6, K6+ and K8 and it is the plus variants that gets airbags.
Mahindra will officially launch the KUV100 on the 15th January 2016 at their plant in Chakan, Pune.
