Mahindra Bolero has been an undisputed leader in the utility market since 2007. Yet, apart from seat belts, the vehicle did not offer any other safety features. This time around, Mahindra has updated the Bolero with new features to comply with the 2019 safety norms. The Bolero now gets driver airbag, anti-lock braking system (ABS), speed alert system, front seatbelt alert, reverse parking sensor and a manual override for central locking system to open the door from the inside. The Bolero Power+, Bolero Plus (nine-seater) and the Bolero Ambulance will also receive the necessary upgrades in the next few months.
One of the largest utility car manufacturer in the country, Mahindra further adds that the Bolero will get a BS-VI update early in 2020. Speaking on the occasion, Rajan Wadhera, President, Automotive Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., “As the first milestone in our BS-VI readiness journey, we are delighted to get the BS-VI certification for the Bolero Power+. The Bolero is one of our highest selling SUVs and has been the first UV (Utility Vehicle) to be certified as BS-VI ready by the ICAT.”
