Mahindra Bolero continues to be the highest selling SUV for nine consecutive years

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M Ltd.) has announced that the Bolero continues to be the highest selling SUV for the ninth consecutive year. The SUV has retained this position since 2007 and continues to show a stellar performance.

Mahindra sold over one lakh units of the Bolero for the fourth consecutive year. The company also announced that the vehicle secured the fifth position among the top-selling passenger vehicles in our country in FY 2015. The Bolero is the also the only SUV to feature among the top 10 selling passenger vehicles in India.

Pravin Shah, President and Chief Executive, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said, "The fact that the Bolero has sold more than 1,00,000 units in FY2015 and retained its position as the country's No. 1 SUV, signifies the confidence consumers have in the brand. Over the years, the Bolero has evolved with the changing lifestyle aspirations of customers. I am sure that the Bolero will continue to be as popular on Indian roads in the years to come”.

The Mahindra Bolero is a sturdy vehicle that has always enjoyed a good demand in India, especially in the rural areas. The company will soon update the SUV and launch the next-generation version, which will be a compact SUV. The vehicle will be a seven-seater and is expected to be powered by a new 1.5-litre diesel mill. Speculations are that there will also be a three-cylinder motor. This upcoming new Bolero is codenamed U301 and will be available in two options, a five-speed manual and an automated manual transmission too. The new Bolero is expected to only better the sales for the manufacturer.
