Mahindra and Mahindra recently launched the Alturas G4 for the Indian market in two trims. The premium SUV is feature-packed, but for buyers who would want to add some more convenience and practical features, here are the top four accessories you can opt for in any variant.
1. Side footstep
Ingress and egress is easy in the Alturas, but the height and high round clearance of the SUV might be a little tough for some to climb in or out. Reasonably so, the carmaker has designed a side footstep which is made from CED coated rust free aluminium construction. It’s claimed to be a sturdy body mounting system for flex free performance. There's a rubber seal to hide the gap and the unique design sports plastic inserts to complement the Alturas' design.
2. Roof Carrier Kit
This one is a style and utility accessory that boasts of lightweight aluminium construction. Designers have maintained a sleek profile while making it practical to hold additional luggage on long trips.
3. Smart Tracker
Like many other manufacturers, Mahindra is also offering a GPRS based live tracker for the Alturas G4. This is paired to a smartphone android app that helps in knowing the car's location at all times. It has features like geo fencing, route deviation alerts, tow-away alerts, over-speeding alert etc.
4. Head-up display
There's also a head-up display offered as an add-on accessory that will let the driver focus on the road. How? It displays the vehicle speed on the windscreen letting the drivers eyesight be always in front. It gets a programmable over-speed warning to alert drivers of excessive speed. Additionally, there's also a battery voltage read out with warning beep in case of a low charge.
