Mahindra Adventure has announced that it will be the title sponsor of the Rally of Maharashtra 2015 that will be held over this weekend.
The Rally of Maharashtra is the second round of the FMSCI Indian Rally Championship, but effectively the season opener as the first round which was to be run in Goa in May was cancelled due to unavoidable circumstances. This rally is the only tarmac event of the season and covers a total distance of 471 km of which 116.46 km form the competitive section. The rally will include three special stages located about 68 km from the city. Two loops of the special stages will be run on Friday and a third on Saturday, before the cars return to the city for the spectator special stage. The spectator special stage of 2.03 km, will be run once on Saturday evening and twice on Sunday.
"At Mahindra we are committed towards supporting motor sports events in India. Being the title sponsor for the Rally of Maharashtra is a step towards that direction and we are sponsoring it for the third year in a row. This rally is also of immense importance to us since one of our largest manufacturing facilities is based out of Nasik, which is also the rally headquarters. With our triumph at the Indian Rally Championship last year, our vehicles have clearly proven their mettle against the competition. Now we are all set to take on the Indian Rally Championship 2015," said Vivek Nayer, chief marketing officer, automotive division, Mahindra.
