Mahindra's flagship vehicle, the XUV500, has been launched in a new W9 trim now. This variant comes equipped with new features over the W8 grade and is priced at Rs 15.45 lakhs.
The new W9 trim of the XUV500 gets an electric sunroof with anti-pinch technology. This feature was earlier offered only with the top-of-the-line W10 variant. Similarly, the reverse camera with dynamic assist from the W10 has also been introduced in this new W9 grade. Other features from the W8 variant will continue to be seen in this version.
Mahindra had updated the XUV500 with many new technologies recently. These additions include Android Auto, Connected Apps, Ecosense and Emergency Call. The W9 variant will get these along with dual airbags, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system etc. and will be sold in both manual and automatic trasnmission models. Its certainly the demand of these aspirational features that has made Mahindra introduce a new variant below the top-end version and at a lower price. Will it be able to boost the sales of the XUV500 or not, only time will tell.
