The newly formed Lynk & Co carmaker, after introducing the 01 SUV and the 02 sedan, has confirmed that their third vehicle would be a crossover. Geely’s international car brand will expand its product line-up across China and some European markets in a couple of years’ time. Prototypes of the 02 crossover coupe were spotted in China as well.
Lynk & Co introduced their first tech-laden and highly connected 01 SUV Concept in October last year, with a production spec model revealed earlier this year. At the 2017 Shanghai Motor Show, the Chinese carmaker took the wraps off the 03 sedan concept. Prototypes of the 03 sedan have been spotted a couple of times already.
The spied test mule is wearing high cladding, but the sloping silhouette is evident. The design language adopted by the 01 and 03 aren’t visible though. However, the 02 crossover coupe looks very sporty with its hunched back, similar to the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe. Lynk & Co asserts that the new crossover will be a bit lowered and have a sporty flair to it.
All the Lynk & Co vehicles are confirmed to have been developed in Sweden under the Volvo banner and manufactured in China to be sold across the continents. With SUVs being the body style in demand these days, the newly found carmaker has realised the importance of having more high-riding vehicles in their portfolio. The 01 SUV will be focused on family-oriented buyers, whereas the 02 crossover will be targeted at young audiences, affirmed the Chinese carmaker.
