The LWB (long wheelbase) version of the Mahindra TUV300 SUV will be powered by the 1.99-litre mHawk engine. This has been evidenced in a new set of spy pictures that have emerged on the interweb.
This engine was introduced by Mahindra last year in the wake of the diesel vehicle ban that was implemented in Delhi. It has the same output of 140bhp/320Nm of torque as the 2.2-litre engine but with a cubic capacity, which at that time, complied with the regulations of the ban.
We already know that this will be a seven-seater vehicle that will take on the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Chevrolet Enjoy Renault Lodgy and the Honda BR-V. It is expected to get forward facing seats for row three and will make use of the TUV300’s boxy façade to sell itself for those looking for MUV with SUV looks.
This LWB TUV300 is likely to be called the TUV500 and will arrive in a price range where it will overlap with certain variants of the NuvoSport as well as the Scorpio.
