Growing demand for luxury cars in the country has seen a list of new entrants in the Indian market. The year 2017 promises to be even bigger and better for auto enthusiasts as well as premium automakers in the country. Below mentioned are list of cars that will thrill you next year.
New E-Class:
Mercedes-Benz has always been a charmer in the luxury car segment. The new sixth generation E-Class codenamed W123 was unveiled earlier this year. Much like its family lineage, the new E-Class will not just ooze style, but also offer a range of four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines with the higher spec models getting inline-6 engines. It is expected to launch in mid of 2017.
E-Class Cabriolet:
The E-Class Cabriolet is for those who wish to drive something that defines their individual taste. Mechanically, it gets a similar engine specification as the new E-Class. However, the Cabriolet might also be given AMG treatment to hike up its fun quotient. The new E-Class Cabriolet is also expected to launch in mid-2017.
AMG GT C/R:
The German automaker will be introducing the two massive power beasts in the country. The AMG GT C will get a 4.0-litre twin-turbo that generates 549bhp of power, while the AMG GT R powered by 4-litre twin-turbo V8 generates 577bhp of power. Thought the former sprints from 0 – 100kph in 3.7 seconds and achieves a top speed of 315kph, the latter does it slightly faster at 3.6 seconds and reaches top speed of 319kph. Both the performance cars will be launched towards the end of 2017.
New 5- series:
The seventh generation BMW 5 Series is all set for its India launch sometime in mid-2017. Based on the OKL platform, the upcoming vehicle will be slightly larger than its predecessor. We expect to see petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid model options for the country. Post launch it will compete against Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Audi A6 and recently launched Jaguar XF and Volvo S90.
6 Series upgrade:
For 2017, BMW will introduce fresh set of upgrades in the 6 Series range including the Coupe, Convertible and Gran Coupe models. The vehicles will not get any mechanical upgrades and changes will be limited to a series of exterior and interior accents that render it a personalised look. It is expected to launch in early 2017.
Audi A4 diesel:
To expand customer options, Audi will be introducing a diesel engine option in its popular selling A4 model. Restricted to petrol until now, it new diesel variant will be powered by a 2.0L four-cylinder turbo engine which generates 186bhp of power and 400Nm of torque. It is expected to be launched in early 2017.
Audi S5 Sportback:
Audi S5 Sportback is expected to launch early in 2017. The vehicle will get a 3.0-litre V6 turbo petrol engine that generates 349bhp of power and 500Nm of torque. Equipped with quattro, the S5 Sportback is capable of sprinting from 0 to 100kmph in just about 4.7 seconds.
Volvo V90:
Volvo V90 Cross Country will sit on an all-new chassis technology and get an all-wheel drive system. The upcoming vehicle will carry forward the diesel D5 AWD and petrol T6 AWD from the Volvo XC90. The vehicle will be positioned between the XC90 and the S90 in India. It is expected to be introduced by mid-2017.
Volvo S60:
It is likely that the Volvo will launch the S60 Polestar in India early in 2017. This will also mark the entry of Polestar brand in India. Powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged and supercharged engine it generates 362 BHP and 470 Nm of torque.
Mini Clubman diesel:
Mini recently introduced the Clubman in India with a 2.0-litre petrol unit. However, early in 2017 the premium automaker will also be introducing the diesel Clubman variant in India which will be powered by a 2.0-litre TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder engine. The diesel version will also come mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Porsche 718:
The new Porsche 718 Cayman is expected to launch in India in early 2017. Powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder boxer engine produces 300bhp of power. Loaded with fresh cosmetic upgrades, the vehicle continues to impress as its predecessors.
