A low-cost crossover from Renault has been spotted testing for the first time. The car, easily identifiable by the large Renault nose appears to be a budget offering and in its mid stages of testing thanks to the appearance of full body work and a prominent display of the company logo.
What do the pictures tell us so far? The car appears to have a single large windscreen wiper (LHD oriented), skinny tyres and a fascia very similar to the facelifted Renault Duster. The OVRMs look completely out of place for a vehicle of that size and design leaving us to believe that the final design will be closer to what is present on the Duster. The rear of the car has much in common with the (not sold in India) Captur crossover, leading us to believe that Renault may just be working on a best of both cars design.
What else can we guess? It is expected to get both petrol and diesel engines but only with the manual transmission option. The European-spec cars will get at least seven airbags, ABS with EBD and more trim levels than its Asian counterpart.
The crossover segment is booming and everyone is looking for a piece of the pie. It is possible that this car maybe a hatchover (hatchback based crossover) in disguise.
