Nissan is all set to give us new variants of its Micra hatchback and this includes the facelifted version that was launched in Thailand two months ago as well as a low cost version (a.k.a Active) that has been spotted testing on numerous occasions outside Chennai. The team at Indianautosblog has spotted the same car again and now pictures of front fascia reveal a facelifted design.
The facelifted car sports a honeycomb grille, redesigned headlights as well a new bumper. There are no fog lamps on the bumper and its sports a new design for the air dam. However, the rear end and the overall design remain the same.
The Micra Active is expected to get lower levels of insulation and cut price interiors. Features wise, the Micra Active will get a locally assembled power steering system and no airbags in a bid to keep the costs down.
The car is expected to make its debut with the same 1.2-litre petrol that produces 76PS and 104Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox. It is likely that Micra Active will be made available with the 1.5-litre diesel mill sometime in the future due to the high demand for diesel vehicles in India.
