London is to play host to the UK eco motor show, EcoVelocity – a dynamic festival of green motoring packed with the very latest no compromise, hi-tech and ultra low carbon vehicles. The 4-day event runs from Thursday September 8 to Sunday September 11 2011 and will be staged in the grounds of the iconic Battersea Power Station.
EcoVelocity will see car makers showcase their latest green models and will include electric, hybrid and cars with very low emissions – often exempt from paying car tax and congestion charging zones. Each car maker will allow interested visitors to get hands on their new technology cars by offering test drives on a specially constructed circuit.
Market leading brands attending the event include Citroen, Fiat, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Peugeot, Renault, SEAT, Vauxhall and Volkswagen.
A highlight of the show for many car enthusiasts is likely to be the Green Supercar Paddock, an exhibition of green supercars such as the Citroen Survolt completely disproving the myth that being green is dull.
Event founder and organiser Giles Brown commented: “In the absence of the British Motor Show in 2011, EcoVelocity will be the most important and definitely not to be missed motoring event of the year, showcasing the best real-world cars for real-world motorists at a single location.“It is going to be of great interest to motorists learning what the industry has to offer them right now and in the future.”
