The management of Bosch Limited has forced an “indefinite lockout of all workmen from the plant operations†from 12th of December, 2008. The decision was taken because workmen continued their illegal strike and never reported for their respective duties, even after the Rajasthan government had passed an order prohibiting the strike.
The Mico Bosch Labour Union has been on strike since November 10, 2008, causing losses to the company. The company has made attempts to resolve the issue by holding meetings with the Labour Union in presence of Joint Labour Commissioner and the Rajasthan government, but all in vain. The Union also resorted to violence to stop the functioning of the plant. The call to strike came at a time when the industry is going through a bad phase and demand is on a decline.
