Hyundai is all set to launch the new Grand i10 hatchback for the Indian market in next few hours and we at CarWale are bringing you live updates from the event in Delhi. We know many details about the entry-level diesel hatchback from Hyundai and are eagerly waiting for the price announcement. While we wait for the launch event to begin, here is a sneak peek at the interiors and features of the new hatchback. The Grand i10 will be offered in four different trims, each with a choice of one petrol and one diesel engine. The petrol unit is 1.2-litre Kappa developing 83PS and 113Nm from the i10, whereas the diesel engine is all-new 1.1-litre three-cylinder mill churning out 71PS and 159Nm of torque. The brochure leak from couple of days back highlight more than a few details and you can check variants list here – but let us now wait for a while to get exact details from Hyundai.

While waiting for the launch, we had a word with couple of Hyundai dealers who confirm that the car can be booked for Rs 50,000. The Grand i10 will be on display at all the major Hyundai showrooms across India by today afternoon, but the dealers are still not sure about the delivery timelines.
Another hatchback will be launched in India, around the same time - though in a different segment and at a completely different price point, the BMW 1 Series.

Hyundai’s special guest for the event is South Korea’s ambassador for India – he says India Korea bhai-bhai!
Hyundai says they exports around 2,50,000 units per annum brining revenue and foreign exchange for the Indian economy.
Senior General Manager of Hyundai India, Nalin Kapoor, is now on stage to brief about the key aspects and features of the new Grand i10.
Hyundai says that 69 per cent of hatchback sales is in the compact high entry-level segment and Hyundai will enter the segment with the Grand i10.
Interestingly, Hyundai officials are calling it the Grand through the presentation and not the Grand i10!
The Grand carries forward Hyundai’s fluidic design philosophy.
Mr Kapoor says this car will offer performance with efficiency and style with comfort.
The Grand i10 for India is 100mm longer than the European counterpart., this will be the first hatchback to have rear AC vent
Dual-tone beige-black interiors with features like steering mounted steering control and 2-Din music system and blue-light instrument cluster.
Hyundai is highlighting the segment first 1 GB hard disc to save music and driver seat adjustment.
Push-button start, rear parking sensors, chilled-glove box and auto-folding ORVMs are also part of stanrd features list for top-end variants.
We are now talking about the engine – the diesel engine is second generation U2 CDRi 1120cc three-cylinder unit with output of 71PS and 16.3kgm.
Hyundai says that the ARAI efficiency is 24kpl - segment best!
Hyundai Grand i10 gets dual airbags and ABS for safety.
As confirmed the Grand will be available in four variants – Era, Magnum, Sportz and Asta.
Mr Kapoor has summoned up his presentation and we are now waiting for the unveiling of the car.
And the Hyundai Grand i10 in its flagship Golden Orange colour is now on the stage.
The Grand i10 will be available in eight colours - Wine Red, Stardust, Golden Orange, Phantom Black, Silky Beige, Twilight Blue, Pure White, and Sleek Silver.
We are now waiting for the prices of the Grand i10 and that should happen after this TVC - 'the Grand new Lingo'!
And we have the prices – the Grand i10 starts at an incredible price of Rs 4.29 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The top-end Asta diesel is priced at Rs 6.41 lakh
The petrol Grand i10 prices: Era – Rs 4,29,900, Magna – Rs 4,49,400, Sportz – Rs 4,88,800, Asta – Rs 5,74,000.
The diesel Grand i10 prices: Era – Rs 5,23,700, Magna – Rs 5,43,200, Sportz – Rs 5,82,600, Asta – Rs 6,41,600.
One last thing to note - Hyundai has added that these are introductory prices!
