Jaguar has refreshed the Jaguar XF by incorporating carbon fibre bits into it. This new variant is called the ‘carbon pack’ or the ‘pounce pack’ and is available for the same price as the standard variant. However, it is limited edition and only 100 units of this variant will be made and launched first in South Africa.
The British automaker has made slight cosmetic changes to their XF sedan to make it look more impressive and add an element of exclusivity to it. The first evident change is to the alloy wheels which have been given a darker shade of grey. A red coloured Jaguar logo has been embedded into the centre of the alloy wheel. If one looks closely at the valve caps, they bear a logo of UK’s national flag.
Coming to the carbon fibre parts, small bits of the material can be seen on the ORVMs, vents and the rear spoiler making it a bit different from the standard sedan. The front mesh-type grille has been given shiny treatment with the black colour making the chrome Jaguar badge look a bit more prominent.
This variant will be available in two petrol engine options- a turbo-charged 2.0-litre motor and a supercharged 3.0-litre V6 engine. The smaller 2.0-litre engine gives a power output of 237bhp while the more powerful 3.0-litre petrol engine, which also gets a rear diffuser to regulate air flow, churns out 335bhp of power.
Reports say that all these changes apparently cost 40,000 Rand which is approximately Rs 2.48 lakh. But good news for prospective buyers is that the price of the car has not been changed and is same as the standard model which is being offered. However, to avail all these features customers will have to rush as only 100 units of this variant are being produced. The Jaguar XF Carbon fibre edition will be available at dealerships priced in the range of 5,52,600 - 7,65,200 Rand, which is about Rs 34.24-Rs 47.42 lakh.
