Audi has officially unveiled a whole new range of A5 and S5 models and now it’s time for the big daddy – the high-performance RS5 which, for years, has played second fiddle to the BMW M3 in the sporty coupe segment.
The next-gen RS5 was recently caught testing at the arduous Nurburgring circuit in Germany. The prototype is seen wearing heavy camouflage over the muscular looking bumpers and mega wide fenders. The massive oval exhausts also hint at the performance potential of this upcoming model.
Sadly, Audi is likely to ditch the existing naturally aspirated V8 for a more efficient twin-turbo V6 engine. The downsized engine though will pack in plenty of punch and is expected to develop close to 460bhp of power.
We expect Audi to fully reveal the new RS5 early next year as one of its showstoppers at the 2017 Geneva Show.
