Toyota is going to launch its fourth Lexus product in India, the NX 300h, on 17 November. The crossover will be available in a single petrol-hybrid engine option, and will be positioned below the Lexus RX450h.
The Lexus NS 300h was given a facelift earlier this year. The front fascia of the NX 300h, with triple projectors headlamp and the smoked chrome grille, is inspired by the LC luxury coupe, and give it a sporty look. Even the side profile has a sporty feel to it, thanks to the sloping roofline which culminates with a bootlid spoiler. At the heart of the NX 300h is a 2.5-litre petrol engine, mated to hybrid configuration similar to the one on the Lexus ES300h sedan. The combined output of the NX 300h is 195bhp.Â
Although the NX 300h is a rival to the Mercedes-Benz GLC and the BMW X3, it will be significantly more expensive in India due to the heavy taxes charged on completely built unit (CBU) models. As such, the NX 300h will share the market space with the BMW X5 and the Audi Q5.Â
