Lexus will further expand its product line in the country with the smallest offering globally, the NX300h SUV, which is due for launch tomorrow. The upcoming vehicle from Toyota’s luxury arm was last showcased at the Shanghai Motor Show held earlier this year. Reports indicate that we might get the latest facelift version at the time of its launch.
As seen in the international spec model, the upcoming Lexus NX300h will be based on the Lexus’ L-finesse design language. The vehicle will get the signature Lexus spindle grill with sleek LED headlamps and J-shaped DRLs. It gets bulging wheel arches with plastic cladding that comfortably accommodate large alloy wheels. The NX300h also gets sharp character lines running below the windows and lower half of the doors. The rear section features highly sculpted tailgate with wraparound split-LED taillamps and rear spoilers.
Inside, the Lexus NX300h is expected to be offered with two-zone automatic climate control system, a 10.3-inch multimedia display with a 10-speaker sound system and a 10-way adjustable powered front seats. Additionally, the upcoming model will also get ventilated front seats and a sunroof. Mechanically, the vehicle might get a 2.5-litre petrol engine that generates 190bhp of power. The modest engine will come mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
More details about the vehicle will be known post its launch in India tomorrow. However, on the pricing aspect, we expect it to be priced around Rs 75 lakhs (ex-showroom, all-India). The upcoming SUV will compete against the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLE, Audi Q7 and the BMW X5.
